4/21/10: Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna
Started the morning off kind of slow. We had very few bites but by midday the Bluefin showed up. The fishing for the rest of the day was excellent. We ended up releasing a couple of Bluefin and kept this one that weighed 180lbs. At the end of the day we were having multiple hook ups and had a Yellowfin Tuna to top it off.

Bluefin Tuna Fishing 3/20/10
Finally some beautiful weather on the Outer Banks. The wind was calm and the ocean was flat. Started the morning off down South on the edge of the Gulfstream. Looking for Bluefin's and Yellowfin Tuna's. The Yellowfin's weren't around but got into a good bite with the Bluefin's. We caught three Bluefin's in the 60" range that averaged around 150 to 200lbs. We can only keep one Bluefin per day. With over 3knots of current it takes a little time to get a fish this size to the boat.

Bluefin Tuna
Yesterday I went out on a private boat. The weather got worse as the day went on with winds picking up to 25 knots southwest. Started out in the warm water of the gulfstream and hooked two Gaffer Dolphins as soon as we put the lines out. After that, things got pretty slow so we went up into the cooler water where the Bluefin Tuna fishing has been great for the last couple of weeks. We caught all we wanted and came back in early before the weather got worse. Fishing regulations allow us to keep one Bluefin Tuna per boat. Here is the one we kept, all others were released. This Bluefin is about 145lbs. The Yellowfin Tuna should start showing up in better numbers over the next couple of weeks.
